Welcome to Warkworth Walks. We are a volunteer group of locals who love walking in our beautiful backyard. It is our privilege to be able to take you to extraordinary places, many of which are on private land or have restricted conservation access.

We are currently gearing up for 2026 so check out the exciting options, gather friends and family, and prepare to book tickets from 6 September.

Please note that 2026 is BYO lunch and snacks. In previous years, we have provided lunch packs for our walks, but not this year. Warkworth is stacked with great cafes, bakeries and other food outlets so it is easy to stock up in town before your walk.

Warkworth Walks began in 2009 and has run as an annual walking event every year since, excluding a Covid cancellation in 2021. We offer spectacular guided trails through beautiful Warkworth, Mahurangi, Matakana, Kaipara, Leigh and Puhoi areas. The walks traverse many of our most stunning coastal tracks, some over normally inaccessible areas on private land, leading to many very special places. Join us to experience local hospitality, camaraderie and the hidden walking jewels of Warkworth and the surrounding areas.

Welcome old friends and new. To our returning walkers, thanks for your wonderful support over the last 16 years. Gather a group of friends, work colleagues or family and join us for a fun walking weekend. We know that your experience in and around Warkworth will be rewarding, you will learn about our unique environs and enjoy the local hospitality in good company. The group numbers for each walk are limited.

Please note we have an automated booking system which takes credit card payments with booking. This makes things easy and efficient. We are volunteers and sometimes we can’t respond immediately to e-mails. However, we will get to your requests as soon as possible, and we appreciate your patience.
