Kia ora, koutou. Only a few days until our weekend of walks. There are a couple of important things to note.

  1. Fallen Tree trail and Pohuehue to Puhoi trail had to be cancelled. Anyone who booked for those has been e-mailed to inform them of the cancellation. However, we know e-mail can go into Junk folders or just not get seen for other reasons so, if you were booked for either of those trails and haven’t had an e-mail from us, get in touch with us. You will have received a refund anyway, but we still have some spaces available on other trails if you still want to walk with us.

  2. We have just discovered that the top carpark outside the Masonic Hall, where you will be signing in with us, is closed for resurfacing and, thus, unavailable for parking. That means you will need to allow a bit of extra time for finding parking in the surrounding streets and walking to the hall. Sorry for the inconvenience, but it is beyond our control. There will be some extra parking available on the grass by the skate ramp at the eastern end of Baxter St.

Welcome to Warkworth Walks. We are a volunteer group of locals who love walking in our beautiful backyard. It is our privilege to be able to take you to extraordinary places, many of which are on private land or have restricted conservation access.

We are delighted to present our 2025 trails which can be seen in the menu alongside from July. Check out the exciting options, gather friends and family, and prepare to book tickets from early September.

Join us to experience local hospitality, camaraderie, food and the hidden walking jewels of the Warkworth and surrounding areas. Welcome old friends and new. To our returning walkers, thanks for your wonderful support over the last 15 years.

We offer spectacular guided trails through beautiful Warkworth, Mahurangi, Matakana, Kaipara, Leigh and Puhoi areas. The walks traverse many of our most stunning coastal tracks, some over normally inaccessible areas on private land, leading to many very special places.

Gather a group of friends, work colleagues or family and join us for a fun walking weekend. We know that your experience in and around Warkworth will be rewarding, you will learn about our unique environs and enjoy the local hospitality in good company. The group numbers for each walk are limited.

Please note we have an automated booking system which takes credit card payments with booking. This makes things easy and efficient.

The event began in 2009 and has run as an annual walking event every year since, excluding a Covid cancellation in 2021.

We are volunteers and sometimes we can’t respond immediately to e-mails. However, we will get to your requests as soon as possible, and we appreciate your patience.
